Old conservatories are one of the most common things UK homeowners want gone — leaky polycarbonate roofs, rotten frames and rooms that are too hot in summer and freezing in winter. Removal is usually quick and straightforward.
How removal works
A conservatory is dismantled in reverse order of construction:
- Glass and roof panels come out first
- Frames are cut down and removed
- Doors and window frames are taken out
- The dwarf wall is broken down if required
- The base can be left, reduced, or fully removed
How long it takes
A typical uPVC conservatory is down and cleared in one day. Larger hardwood or brick-based structures can take two days, especially if the base is being broken out too.
Typical costs
Most conservatory removals in the UK fall between £800 and £2,500 depending on size, materials and whether the base and dwarf walls are being removed. uPVC and aluminium frames are recyclable, which keeps waste costs down.
What you are left with
You can keep the base as a patio, have it broken out and the ground levelled, or have the area prepared for a new extension or garden room. Tell us your plan when you request a quote and we will price accordingly.
